A repacking kit replaces the worn packings and seals in your sprayer's fluid section, the parts that stop paint leaking past the piston rod. Find your sprayer in the table below to get the right kit. The Impact 440, 540 and Impact X 440 use 704-586B, the Impact 740/840 uses 805-1010, the Impact 1040/1140 uses 0558740, and PowrTwin 4900–12000 pumps use the 144-050 service kit. Repack when paint weeps from the top of the pump or the sprayer won't hold pressure.
Genuine Titan repacking kits for every pump
Every piston pump has packings: stacks of leather, UHMW or PTFE seals above and below the piston that let the rod move while holding thousands of PSI. They wear with every stroke, and abrasive primers and texture wear them faster. A genuine Titan repacking kit restores the factory seal so your sprayer builds full pressure again, sprays an even pattern and stops leaking. We stock kits for Titan Impact, Impact X, PowrTwin, PowrLiner, Elite and PowrBeast sprayers, plus SpeeFlo, SprayTech and Wagner pumps.
Find your repacking kit by sprayer model
Match your sprayer model, and the fluid section part number where shown, to the kit. If your model has several versions (for example 440 vs 440i vs 440ix), check the model plate on the sprayer or open its parts diagram.

Signs your pump needs repacking
- Paint weeping from the top of the fluid section or into the throat area. The upper packings are worn.
- The sprayer won't build or hold pressure, or the pump keeps cycling when the gun is closed. This points to worn lower packings or valves.
- A pulsing or surging spray pattern even with a new tip and clean filters.
- Paint in the piston lube or throat seal area, or lube turning the color of your paint.
- Visible scoring on the piston rod. Replace the rod together with the packings. New packings on a scored rod fail quickly.
Minor vs major service kits: what's the difference?
A repacking kit or minor service kit replaces the wear seals: upper and lower packings, glands and O-rings. This is the routine rebuild. A major service kit adds the heavier wear parts, such as the piston rod or cylinder components and valve parts, for a pump that has run a long time or was damaged by debris. On PowrTwin and PowrLiner pumps, for example, 144-050 is the minor kit and 144-500 is the major kit. Kit contents vary, so check each product page for exactly what is included.
Repacking tips for a longer-lasting pump
- Inspect the piston rod and cylinder while the pump is apart. Replace a scored or pitted rod.
- Keep the upper packings lubricated with Titan piston lube or throat seal lubricant so paint can't dry on the rod.
- Follow the fluid section drawing on your parts diagram or the owner manual for packing order and orientation.
- Clean the inlet screen and manifold filter at the same time. Debris is the number-one cause of early packing wear. See our filters and accessories.
- Flush the pump after every use and store it with pump protector so the packings never sit in dried paint.
