The SprayTech 91-36 throat seal lubricant is a specialized maintenance fluid designed to lubricate the packings and seals in the fluid section of compatible hydrax series airless sprayers. This lubricant is intended for use on hydrax models ranging from 4540 through 7230. The throat seal area is where the piston rod moves through the packing stack, and proper lubrication is essential for smooth operation and long seal life. Without adequate lubrication, packings can dry out, harden, and begin to leak or cause increased friction that stresses the sprayer motor and drive system. Regular application of throat seal lubricant reduces friction between the piston rod and packings, preventing premature wear and fluid bypass. The lubricant also helps flush away debris that can accumulate in the packing area. Application frequency depends on sprayer usage, coating materials, and operating conditions.
