How the AirCoat 423 Motor/Pump Assembly Works
The Titan AirCoat 423 Motor/Pump Assembly combines the pneumatic drive, fluid-pressure generation, structural connection, filtration, pulsation control, and spray-hose outlet components that move coating through the sprayer. It sits between the upper shroud and the main machine structure and serves as the mechanical and hydraulic center of the AirCoat 423.
Titan 0533249 is the AirCoat 423 air motor assembly and Titan 0533243 is the AirCoat 423 pump assembly. The air motor converts regulated compressed air into reciprocating movement. A coupling pin connects the air-motor piston rod to the fluid-pump displacement rod so each motor stroke drives a corresponding intake or discharge stroke inside the pump.
The motor and pump are aligned by brackets, stanchions, washers, lock washers, nuts, and screws. Correct alignment is critical because loose hardware or an incorrectly installed pin can cause vibration, uneven loading, accelerated packing wear, rod damage, or interrupted pump movement.
On cart and wall-mount models, the pump discharge connects through the 0533627 elbow, 0533458 fitting, 0533457 nipple, 0533251 high-pressure filter assembly, 0533252-1 pulsation dampener, and 0533459 spray-hose outlet fitting. Spider models use a different connection arrangement that includes 0533461 fitting, 0533462 hose, 0533641 elbow, the same filter and dampener assemblies, and 0533460 outlet fitting.
The high-pressure filter removes debris from the pressurized coating, while the pulsation dampener reduces pressure fluctuations created by the reciprocating pump. Together with the outlet fittings and hoses, these components help maintain stable coating delivery to the spray gun.
