Every part that carries paint, the hose, gun, tip guard and fittings, must be rated at or above your sprayer's maximum pressure, and the lowest rating in the system sets the limit. Titan hoses are sold in 3300 psi, 3600 psi and higher families. Check the rating on each part page before you buy.
The rule: nothing in the system rated below the sprayer
An airless sprayer works at very high fluid pressure, and a jet of paint can inject fluid through the skin. It can look like a small cut but it is a medical emergency, so get medical attention at once and tell the doctor what the fluid was. For that reason, never run any component above the lowest working-pressure rating in the system: hose, gun, tip guard and fittings. The lowest number sets the limit, and a gun rated at 3600 psi does not make a 3300 psi hose safe on a sprayer that can go higher.
Find your sprayer's maximum pressure in its manual or on its label. Then compare it to each replacement part's rating. The rating is usually in the part name: the site lists hoses such as 0286499, 3600 PSI Hose 50' X 3/8". Use only airless-rated, conductive, grounded hose as the manufacturer specifies.
Titan hose families
Titan's hose pages describe solid urethane construction, a conductive tube designed for proper grounding and NPSM end connections. The hoses come in families named by pressure. These are examples from the Titan Hoses page:
Titan hose examples by pressure family
| Part number | Rating | Length and diameter |
|---|---|---|
| 316-505 | 3300 psi | 50 ft x 1/4 in. |
| 316-513 | 3300 psi | 25 ft x 1/4 in. |
| 316-506 | 3300 psi | 5 ft x 3/16 in. whip hose |
| 0291006 | 3300 psi | 50 ft x 3/8 in. |
| 0286498 | 3600 psi | 50 ft x 1/4 in. |
| 0286499 | 3600 psi | 50 ft x 3/8 in. |
Titan's hose pages also list 4500, 6500 and 7500 psi families for higher pressure sprayers. Check the part page for the model fitment before you order.
The fitment text on each part page lists the sprayers it is used with. The 316-505 page, for example, lists several Impact, PowrBeast and PowrLiner models. A higher-rated hose can replace a lower one only if the connections match and the sprayer's own manual allows it, and never the other way round.
Hose length and diameter
A longer hose adds friction, which takes pressure away before the tip. Titan's advice for a sprayer that is already at its maximum pressure is a larger-diameter hose or a shorter one. The 3/8 in. hoses in the table are the larger-diameter option. Check the maximum hose length your manual allows before you add length, and use a short whip hose at the gun if the manual calls for one.
Guns
Titan's gun pages give a maximum pressure for each model. RX-80 and RX-Pro guns are rated 3600 psi, and the RX-Apex is rated 5000 psi. The LX-40 is rated 3000 psi, which is below the 3300 psi of an Impact, so check that one against your sprayer's maximum. The RX-Pro has what Titan calls Infinity Packing, which lets you reverse the seat and change the ball.

- 0538022 RX-Pro Airless Spray Gun, whose page lists Impact 540, 440 and 410
- 550-540 LX-40 Airless Gun Parts, on the Entry Level Contractor Airless Guns page
- 0538076 RX-Apex gun, hose and TR1 tip kit with a filter
The Guns, Hoses and Tip Kits page lists the complete guns and kits, and the Red Series Guns page covers that gun line. Gun filters matter too: a partly blocked one causes pressure loss and spitting. The 0089959 100 mesh filter lists use with the RX-Pro, RX-80 and several other guns.
Tip guards and tips
The tip guard protects you from accidental injection and shields the tip from damage, so never spray without one. The Tip Guards page lists four: 0289228 (G-thread), 450-100A (adjustable), 661-027 and 0153003 (flat). Replace a guard that is cracked or damaged.
The tip is the last part of the system. Keep the tip size within your sprayer's maximum, since a tip that is too large gives low pressure. A reversible tip clears a clog when you rotate it, and the full range is on the Airless Spray Tips page.
Replace a damaged hose, never repair it
Whatever the sprayer, every accessory must meet or exceed its maximum operating pressure. If you are unsure of a rating, call (713) 931-0006 with your model and serial number before you order, and we will confirm the part.

The Short Version
Find your sprayer's maximum pressure, then check hose, gun, tip guard and fittings against it. The lowest rating wins. Replace a damaged hose rather than repair it, never spray without a tip guard, and call us if a rating is unclear.
