An airless gun is a short chain of parts: swivel, handle and filter, trigger group, valve and packing seal assembly, diffuser, tip seal, tip guard and tip. Titan's diagrams list each by name, so the fastest way to order is to open your gun's diagram and match the numbered callout. Tips and filters are the usual first replacements.
From swivel to tip
Paint reaches the gun from the hose and leaves through the tip. Between those two points the fluid passes through a handful of named assemblies, and Titan's parts diagrams label each one. Learning the names does most of the work of finding a part: once you know a seal is called a packing seal assembly and not a gasket, the diagram page makes sense. The table below follows the fluid path and shows an example from two real Titan diagrams, the RX-80 and the S-3.

Open the full diagram for your gun for every callout. Part names here are the site's, and the S-3 and S-7 share several numbers.
Trigger group
The trigger group is the part you touch, so it is also where the safety lock lives. The RX-80 diagram lists a trigger and lock assembly (0538222) as a single part, a second trigger and lock assembly (0538224), a retractor pin (0538305) and a spring (0296343). The S-3 diagram lists a 4-finger trigger assembly (0502074) and a retractor pin (0502079). The names are the useful part here: if your trigger feels wrong, you are looking for one of these four words on your diagram, and the numbers differ by gun.
Valve and packing
The valve is a ball and a seat that open and close the fluid path when you pull and release the trigger. Titan describes the S-3 as having a tungsten carbide ball valve and seat, and the same wording appears for the LX-40. On the diagrams the valve is mostly hidden inside assemblies. The S-3 and S-7 lists show a packing seal assembly (550-264), and the RX-80 list shows a seal assembly (0538210).
Be careful carrying pump knowledge over here. Pump advice about piston packings and wet cups does not apply to a gun. For one gun Titan's manual is specific: on the RX-Pro, a gun that leaks or spits at the tip after the trigger is released calls for a new ball valve in the packing seal assembly and the seat reversed in the diffuser, and the packing seal assembly itself wears less often. That is the RX-Pro's own procedure, so check your manual before assuming it fits another gun.
Diffuser and tip end
The diffuser sits at the fluid outlet end of the gun and is listed by name on the diagrams: 0538200 Diffuser, 7/8 in. on the RX-80 and 550-277 One Hole Diffuser on the S-3 and S-7. The S-3 list also carries a separate diffuser O-ring (0502080). Ahead of it come the tip seal, the tip guard and the tip.
The 651-020 tip seal appears on the RX-80, S-3, S-7 and S-5 lists, and the Titan Seals page groups the tip seals together. Tip guards are on their own Tip Guards page, and the guard's rating matters: Titan lists 0289228 up to 5000 psi and 661-027 up to 7700 psi. The tip itself sets two things, the orifice size, which controls how much material is delivered, and the fan angle, which controls the width of the pattern. Keep the guard fitted whenever you spray.
Filter and handle
Titan describes an in-handle filter on the S-3, S-7, LX-40 and inline gun, and says a gun filter helps reduce tip plugging. Titan's gun filters come in four mesh grades by colour: green 30 mesh coarse, white 60 medium, yellow 100 fine and red 150 extra fine. The unthreaded filters, listed on the unthreaded gun filter page, fit the RX-Pro, RX-80, S-3 and S-7 among others. A handle seal (560-038) is listed on both the RX-80 and S-3 diagrams.
Which parts wear
Titan does not publish a service life for any gun part, so there is no hour or gallon count to give you. What the manufacturer and general airless practice do say is below, with the easiest check first.
- Tip. A worn tip has a wider orifice, so pressure falls, the pattern gets coarse or streaky and more paint is used. Replace the tip when the pattern degrades.
- Filter. A partly blocked filter causes pressure loss, pulsing and spitting. Clean it after every job and use the mesh that suits the coating.
- Ball valve and seat. On the RX-Pro, these are the first parts Titan names for a gun that leaks or spits after the trigger is released.
- Seals. Tip seals and handle seals are listed as separate parts, so a leak at the nose or handle can be fixed without a new gun.
