What HEA means
HEA stands for High Efficiency Airless. Titan states that HEA tip technology decreases overspray by up to 55% and delivers a softer spray, and that HEA tips operate at half the pressure of traditional airless tips. Those are Titan's claims about the tips, and the words "up to" matter: they describe a best case, not what every coating and job will give.

What comes with it
Dealer listings describe the 1700 Pro with a 515 spray tip, a professional spray gun and a metal cart, and say it pulls from 1 gallon or 5 gallon containers. The ControlMax gun on the site is the 353-701F, and the tip listed for the Pro spray gun diagram is the 353-515. Check what is in your own box against your manual, since dealer kits vary.
What it suits and what it does not
Titan's listings give latex paints, stains and primers, and describe the sprayer as able to spray unthinned coatings. That puts it in the territory of a homeowner, a repaint contractor or a small crew working on interiors and smaller exteriors.
The 300 gal per year figure is a rating of the sprayer's duty over a year, not a limit on a single job. A crew that sprays a lot should read it as a reason to look at a larger machine, and a homeowner will find it far above what a few rooms need. Check your manual and the coating's data sheet before spraying anything unusual, such as a block filler or a sealer. We cannot confirm from our research that a given material suits this sprayer.

Care that protects a small sprayer
Titan's ControlMax manuals describe a short routine. Relieve pressure with the PRIME/SPRAY valve per the pressure relief procedure, and flush after every job. For short-term latex storage, pump water mixed with Liquid Shield (314-482) through the system. For long-term storage, put a few drops of Piston Lube (314-480) or light household oil into the gun housing. When the pump will not prime or loses pressure, the manual says to clean the inlet valve.

- 353-515 spray tip. A worn tip has a wider orifice, so pressure drops, the pattern turns coarse and more paint is used.
- 353-705 swivel filter for ControlMax sprayers.
- 0580155 inlet filter, on the suction set.
- 0580391 inlet valve kit, the first parts to look at after cleaning if the pump loses prime.
- 0580493 fluid section assembly. Titan describes the fluid section as replaceable, so a worn one does not end the sprayer.
