The Titan Impact 1140 is worth considering when your current machine regularly runs at the top of its tip range, when job volume has outgrown it, or when repairs keep adding up. On Titan's published numbers the gain over a 1040 is small (1.20 gpm against 1.15 gpm), so it is usually not worth it if your sprayer is healthy and your job mix has not changed. Parts for the 1140 are ordered from its diagram pages. Most available items are processed for shipment within about 1-2 business days, though some are ordered from the manufacturer after you order (see Shipping Info).
What the Impact 1140 Offers
The Titan Impact 1140 is an electric piston-pump airless sprayer that Titan lists for stains, lacquers, enamels, latex, elastomeric coatings and block fillers. It is one of Titan's large Impact models, with a 2.6 hp brushless motor and 3300 psi maximum pressure. Its parts are split across diagram pages for the main assembly, drive assembly, fluid section and filter assembly, plus an upright cart and a low rider cart.
840, 1040 and 1140 Side by Side
These are the numbers Titan publishes. All three run on 120 V with a brushless motor and 3300 psi maximum pressure.
| Model | Max delivery | Max tip, one gun | Max tip, two guns | Motor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Impact 840 | 1.00 gpm | 0.032 in | 0.021 in | 2.3 hp |
| Impact 1040 | 1.15 gpm | 0.033 in | 0.022 in | 2.5 hp |
| Impact 1140 | 1.20 gpm | 0.034 in | 0.023 in | 2.6 hp |
Titan lists a weekly volume of 200-300 gallons for the 840 and 300-400 gallons for the 1140. Treat those as Titan's guidance, not a limit, and check your own manual for your machine.
Signs an Upgrade Makes Sense
- Your current machine is regularly running at the top of its tip range on typical jobs, not just on the largest ones.
- You are running two smaller sprayers in parallel to keep up with a single large job, which one larger machine could consolidate.
- Repair parts for your current machine keep adding up and the total is getting close to the price of a replacement.
- Job volume has genuinely grown since you bought your current sprayer, not just felt busier for a short stretch.
Signs You Should Hold Off
If your current machine, whether an 840 or a 1040, still runs reliably and your job mix has not changed, the 1140's extra capacity is headroom you would pay for without using. An upgrade driven by one unusually large job, rather than a sustained shift in your workload, is hard to justify.
1140 vs 1040: Is the Extra Capacity Worth It
On paper the two are close: 1.20 gpm against 1.15 gpm, a 0.034 in maximum tip against 0.033 in, and 2.6 hp against 2.5 hp. The site's diagrams show how close they are in service, too. The 1040 and 1140 fluid section pages list the same repacking kit, 0558740, and the same upper packing 800-353A and lower packing 800-355A. Their drive pages list the same slider assembly 805-241A, motor 805-271A and gears 0558362A and 0558363A, while the motor controllers differ (0552990 on the 1040, 805-841 on the 1140). If your work rarely goes beyond what a 1040 handles, the 1040 does the job. For a longer side-by-side, read Impact 1040 vs Impact 1140.
Repairing Your Current Machine Instead
Before committing to an upgrade, look at what a repair would involve. Lost pressure and pulsing usually trace to the fluid section: packings, valve seats, and the inlet and outlet balls. Those parts are on the fluid section diagram with callout numbers, and the live prices are on each part page, so you can add up a repair and compare it with a new machine. If the housing, drive and controller are sound, a fluid section repair is the cheaper first step. If the drive or electronics are failing, the repair math changes. Not sure which model you own? Making the Call
An upgrade to the 1140 is a capacity decision, not a prestige one. Base it on documented job volume and repair history rather than one demanding project. Ask the crew who run the machine every day, too: comments that the pump is working harder than it used to, or jobs taking longer, often show up before any formal number does.
