On a 6900 Plus DI fluid section the packings wear first, followed by the outlet and foot valve balls and seats. The 138-153A repacking kit and the springs cover the packing side, and the 144-050 minor kit gathers the usual service items. Titan's manual says routine service comes at about 1,000 hours, sooner if the top packing leaks.
What is on the diagram
The PowrTwin 6900 Plus DI Fluid Section page lists 27 parts. Titan describes the DI models as having a submersed foot valve for heavy materials, so the bottom of this fluid section is what sets it apart from a standard 6900 Plus. The fluid section is the piston pump that sits under the hydraulic motor: a rod strokes inside a cylinder, packings seal the rod, and two valves, the outlet valve above and the foot valve below, move coating one way.
The structural parts are the 451-131 piston rod (callout 6), the 0349606 cylinder (callout 14) and the 451-032 cylinder spacer (callout 13). The rod joins the hydraulic motor through the 143-120 connecting pin (callout 2), held by the 143-019 retaining ring (callout 1). Several O-rings and a snap ring round out the page: 145-031 (listed twice, callout 3), 140-009 (callout 15) and the 431-054 retainer ring (callout 23). A rod that is scored will cut new packings quickly, so look at it whenever the section is open.
Packings
Packings are the seals around the piston rod. When they wear, coating leaks past, you see paint at the packing oil cup, or the pump cannot hold pressure. The 6900 Plus DI diagram shows the 138-153A repacking kit (callout 4) with the 142-004 upper packing spring (callout 5) and the 142-003 lower packing spring (callout 7) beside it. Titan's manual says the packing set uses leather packings that are soaked in oil before installation, so do not fit them dry. We do not list what is inside the repacking kit, so confirm its contents with our parts team before you order.
Two symptoms in the manual's troubleshooting table point at the packings. A chatter in the pump means solvent has swollen the upper packing, and the manual says to replace it. A pump that delivers only on the downstroke points at the upper ball not seating or a worn lower packing. Fill the packing oil cup half full with Piston Lube (314-480) each day and never substitute oil, water or solvent for it.
Valves
Balls and seats are the other wear group. A ball that does not seat lets coating fall back, and you see lost pressure or a pump that moves but does not deliver. The diagram splits them into two valve groups.

The diagram also lists a 451-085 cage ball (callout 8) and a 236-030 washer (callout 16). Check the callout on the page before you order either.
The manual's table ties the up and down symptoms to specific parts. Delivery on the upstroke only means the lower foot valve ball is not seating, from trash or wear, or the material is too thick, or there is an air leak on the siphon side. If the foot valve seat or outlet valve seat is worn on one side, the manual says to flip it to the unused side, and to replace it only when both sides are worn. Strokes should take about the same time up and down; a fast stroke one way is a sign something is not seating.
Kits and complete assemblies
- 144-050 fluid section minor service kit. Titan's 6900 DI manual lists it as a retaining ring, PTFE O-rings, packing sets, an outlet valve ball, a seal washer, an O-ring, a foot valve ball, a seat O-ring and Loctite.
- 451-133A foot valve assembly, listed on the 6900 Plus DI diagram, for when the whole lower valve is the problem.

- 451-210 PowrTwin 6900 DI fluid section, complete, which replaces the whole section rather than individual parts.
The manual also names a major kit, 143-500, that adds the displacement rod and pump cylinder. That number is not on the 6900 Plus DI diagram, and the 12000 diagrams use a different major kit number, so confirm with our parts team before ordering one. Buy a kit when you open the section for routine service and several parts are due. Buy a single part when only one is damaged, such as a foot valve ball.
Service timing
Titan's manual calls for routine fluid section servicing after about 1,000 hours of use. It says to service sooner if the top packing leaks or one stroke becomes faster than the other. Titan does not publish a life figure for any single part, so the hour count is a service guide, not a promise that parts will last that long. Siphon hose threads need to be taped and sealed, because an air leak causes the same erratic operation that a bad ball does.
