Its largest tip is 0.033 in. with one gun and 0.022 in. with two, and its motor is a 2.5 hp DuraLife HE brushless unit. It ships as a high rider or a low rider, with an RX-Pro gun, a 517 tip and 50 feet of 1/4 in. hose.
Where the 1040 sits in the Impact line
The 1040 is one of the large original Impact sprayers. By delivery it sits between the Impact 840 at 1.00 gpm and the Impact 1140 at 1.20 gpm. The site's own model page describes it as built for demanding, high-volume coating applications, which is the work a sprayer this size is bought for.
One naming point matters when you order parts. The Impact line has three generations, the original Impacts, the IntelliSync models and the Impact X models, and each has its own diagram pages. The 1040 is an original Impact. Titan's IntelliSync series page lists 640, 840 and 1140 versions and does not list a 1040, so the 840 and 1140 pages are not the place to look for 1040 parts unless the part number is also on the 1040 page.

Read the tip numbers as ceilings, not recommendations. A bigger orifice delivers more material, but the coating and the finish you want decide the size you actually spray, and a worn tip should be replaced when the pattern turns coarse or streaky.
What ships with it
Titan lists an RX-Pro gun, a 517 tip and 1/4 in. x 50 ft airless hose with the 1040. It is sold in two configurations: the high rider, 0552600, and the low rider, 2453769. Know which one you own before you order cart parts, because the diagram pages are organized by assembly.
Features Titan lists for the 1040
- Quad+ Packings. Titan describes them as self-adjusting and designed to wipe abrasive coatings clean during operation, which prevents damage to the piston or the main sealing lip.
- AutoOiler. You push a button and oil goes from the reservoir directly to the packings.
- Electronic Pressure Control with Rapid Clean. Titan says it speeds up flushing and clean-up.
- PermaLife Cylinder. Titan says the cylinder never wears and never needs replacing. That covers the cylinder only. Packings, seats, balls and the piston rod are still wear parts.
1040 or 1040T
Titan also sells the Impact 1040T, which dealers quoting Titan position for smooth texture and abrasive coatings. The site keeps separate parts catalogs for the two. The 1040 Fluid Section page lists 25 parts and the 1040T fluid section page lists 36, with different piston, rod and repacking kit numbers. Do not assume a part from one fits the other. The 1040T has its own pages, starting with the 1040T main assembly.
