PTFE O‑Ring (Size 2-026) for Titan PowrTwin, PowrTex, Hydra & Hydra X

The Titan 891-073 PTFE O‑ring (2-026) is a genuine OEM replacement seal made from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). It is used in fluid sections, valve assemblies, manifolds, and other high‑performance sealing applications on PowrTwin, PowrTex, Hydra, and Hydra X sprayers and pumps.

PTFE O‑rings offer exceptional chemical resistance to solvents, paints, and aggressive coatings, as well as a low coefficient of friction for dynamic sealing applications. A worn, flattened, or damaged O‑ring can cause fluid leaks, pressure loss, or contamination. Replacing with the correct PTFE O‑ring restores a reliable, chemical‑resistant seal.

Service Guidance: PTFE O‑rings are less elastic than rubber. Carefully seat the O‑ring in its groove without stretching. Lubricate before assembly to prevent rolling or pinching. Inspect the gland for burrs or sharp edges that could cut the PTFE.

What it does and when to replace it

What the PTFE O‑ring provides
Chemical resistance Withstands aggressive solvents, paints, and coatings
Low friction Ideal for dynamic seals on moving parts
Wide temperature range Performs in high‑temperature and cryogenic applications
When replacement is recommended
Fluid leak at seal location Visible paint or solvent seepage
Flattened or deformed O‑ring Loss of cross‑section from compression set
Hardening or brittleness PTFE can become stiff over time, losing sealing ability
Nicks or cuts Physical damage during assembly or from debris

Related parts commonly serviced together

When replacing a PTFE O‑ring, these related components are often inspected or serviced at the same time.

Backup ring (if applicable)

PTFE O‑rings often used with backup rings in high‑pressure applications; inspect and replace if damaged.

Gland / groove surfaces

Inspect for nicks, corrosion, or debris that could damage the new O‑ring.

Mating hardware (piston, housing)

Check for wear or damage that may have caused the original seal failure.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is a PTFE O‑ring, size 2-026, used as a chemical‑resistant seal on Titan PowrTwin, PowrTex, Hydra, and Hydra X airless sprayers and pumps.

PTFE offers superior chemical resistance to aggressive solvents, paints, and coatings that can swell or degrade rubber. It also has a low friction coefficient, making it ideal for dynamic sealing applications.

Signs include fluid leaks at the seal location, loss of system pressure, visible flattening or deformation of the O‑ring, or physical damage such as nicks or cuts.

Not recommended. Rubber O‑rings may swell, degrade, or fail when exposed to aggressive solvents. Always use genuine Titan 891-073 PTFE O‑ring to ensure chemical compatibility and proper sealing performance.
