The 700-1043 Drip Cup is a simple but important component designed to collect fluid that may leak from the packing nut or throat area on compatible sprayer models. It prevents drips from falling onto the floor or work surface, keeping the work area clean and reducing slip hazards.

In piston pumps, a small amount of fluid may seep past the throat packings, especially during priming or when the packings begin to wear. The drip cup is positioned below this area to catch any seepage, directing it away from the sprayer and containing it for proper disposal. This not only keeps the work environment clean but also allows operators to monitor packing condition—increased fluid in the drip cup can indicate that packings need adjustment or replacement.

Over time, drip cups can become cracked from impact, degraded from chemical exposure, or clogged with dried material. A damaged or missing drip cup allows fluid to drip onto the floor, creating slip hazards, environmental contamination, and messy work areas. Replacing a worn or damaged drip cup restores proper fluid containment, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
