The Graco 520-020 copper washer is a small but essential sealing component used across multiple Graco spray gun platforms, including HVLP Airspray ProFinish AS1130, Airless SGX 20, Airless S5, and Airless G-15 XL Gun models. Unlike rubber or plastic seals that can degrade when exposed to solvents, copper washers offer excellent chemical resistance and maintain sealing integrity under high pressure and temperature variations. When installed between a threaded fitting and its mating surface, the washer compresses as torque is applied, causing the soft copper to deform plastically. This deformation fills microscopic irregularities in both surfaces, creating a metal-to-metal seal that prevents fluid or air from escaping.
