The SprayTech 236-010A foot valve assembly is a critical fluid intake component used in compatible PowrLiner and PowrTwin airless sprayer systems. This assembly is designed for use with PowrLiner 4955, 6955, 8955, 4950, 6950, 6950_1, and PowrTwin 4900, 6900, 8900, and 12000 Plus models. The foot valve is located at the lower end of the pickup tube or inside the pump intake, and its primary function is to allow coating material to enter the pump cylinder while preventing backflow when the piston reverses direction. This one way action maintains prime in the pump and ensures consistent fluid delivery to the spray gun. Over time, foot valve assemblies can become worn from abrasive coatings, damaged by debris, or lose their sealing ability due to chemical exposure and normal wear. A failing foot valve may cause the sprayer to lose prime, resulting in difficulty starting, sputtering spray, or complete failure to draw material from the container. Replacing a worn or damaged foot valve assembly with the 236-010A restores proper pump priming and consistent fluid flow. Before installation, inspect the valve seat and surrounding components for damage or debris. Ensure the replacement assembly matches the original orientation. Use thread sealant appropriate for your coating material if required. Regular inspection of the foot valve is recommended when experiencing priming issues or during scheduled pump maintenance.
