Titan 235-001 Lock Ring

Titan 235-001 Lock Ring

Sourced From:
Titan Tools Inc.

Titan part 235-001 is a lock ring used to secure components such as packings, seals, or bearings in the fluid section of compatible PowrLiner, PowrTex, and PowrTwin airless sprayers. This retaining ring provides axial retention for internal parts, ensuring they remain in place under pressure and vibration. A worn, broken, or missing lock ring can cause component loosening, leakage, or pump failure. Replacing with the OEM lock ring restores proper assembly integrity and reliable pump operation.

Lock Ring for PowrLiner, PowrTex & PowrTwin – Titan 235-001

The Titan 235-001 Lock Ring is a genuine OEM retaining ring used in the fluid section of PowrLiner, PowrTex, and PowrTwin airless sprayers. It provides axial retention for internal components such as packings, seals, bearings, or valve assemblies, preventing them from shifting under pressure or vibration.

Over time, lock rings can become brittle, break during disassembly, or lose their spring tension. A damaged or missing lock ring allows internal parts to move out of position, causing fluid leaks, loss of pressure, premature packing failure, or complete pump malfunction. Replacing with OEM Titan 235-001 restores proper component retention and reliable pump operation.

Service Guidance: Always inspect the lock ring groove for burrs or damage before installation. Use the correct lock ring pliers to avoid distorting the ring. Replace the ring if it shows cracks, deformation, or loss of tension. Never reuse a lock ring that has been removed.

What it does and when to replace it

What the lock ring does
Retains internal components Prevents packings, bearings, or seals from moving
Maintains assembly preload Keeps stacked components under correct compression
Quick disassembly Allows service access without damaging threads
Vibration resistance Secures parts against machine vibration
When replacement is recommended
Visible cracks or breakage Ring has fractured or missing sections
Loss of spring tension Ring no longer snaps securely into groove
Corrosion / pitting Heavy rust that weakens the ring
After any disassembly Always replace lock rings when removed

Inspect for damage near the groove area.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is a lock ring (retaining ring) used to secure internal components in the fluid section of PowrLiner, PowrTex, and PowrTwin airless sprayers.

Common signs: visible cracks or breakage, loss of spring tension (ring does not snap into groove), heavy corrosion, or after any disassembly of the component it retains.

PowrLiner 4955, 6955, 8955, 4000, 4900XLT, 4900, 4950, 5000, 6000, 6900XLT SP, 6900XLT, 6950, 8900XLT SP, 8900XLT, 8900; PowrTex 6900SF, 12000SV; and numerous PowrTwin models including 3500, 4500, 4900, 6900, 8900, 12000 Plus, and others listed in the compatibility table.

Not recommended. Lock rings can lose tension or become distorted during removal. Always install a new lock ring to ensure proper retention and prevent component loosening.
