During reassembly, Titan instructions specify applying blue Loctite to the bottom threads, lubricating the upper threads with anti-seize compound, and threading the cylinder into the pump housing or gear box until the jam nut is flush. The cylinder must be positioned so the nipple faces the back of the unit before the jam nut is tightened. A worn, scored, or damaged cylinder bore prevents proper packing seal contact, causing pressure loss, fluid bypass, and erratic pump performance.
