Titan 569-016 Ball

Titan 569-016 Ball

Sourced From:
Titan Tools Inc.

Hydra / PowrLiner / PowrTex / PowrTwin part 569-016 is a ball designed to function as a check valve component in fluid systems on compatible sprayer models. This precision spherical component seats against a valve seat to create a one-way seal, allowing material to flow in one direction while preventing backflow. Replacing a worn, pitted, or damaged ball restores proper valve operation and ensures reliable pump performance.

Check Valve Ball for Hydra, PowrLiner, PowrTex & PowrTwin Sprayers

The 569-016 Ball is a precision spherical component used as a check valve element in the fluid systems of compatible Hydra, PowrLiner, PowrTex, and PowrTwin sprayer models. It seats against a valve seat to create a one-way seal, allowing material to flow in one direction while preventing backflow.

In ball check valves, the ball is held against the seat by gravity, pressure differential, or spring force. When pressure on the inlet side exceeds the holding force, the ball lifts off the seat, allowing material to flow through. When pressure equalizes or reverses, the ball seats back into the valve seat, creating a positive seal that prevents backflow. The ball must be perfectly spherical and smooth to create a reliable seal and must be made of materials compatible with the coatings being sprayed.

Over time, check valve balls can become worn, pitted, or develop flat spots due to the constant impact against the seat and the flow of material. Contaminants in the fluid can also cause surface damage. A worn or damaged ball can allow material to leak past, resulting in pressure loss, reduced pump efficiency, and inconsistent spray performance. Replacing a worn ball restores proper valve sealing, ensuring reliable one-way flow control and consistent system pressure.

Installation Note: When replacing the ball, inspect the valve seat for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Ensure the ball moves freely within the valve cage or guide.

What it does and when to replace it

What the ball does
One-way flow control Seats against valve seat to prevent backflow
Pressure maintenance Helps maintain system pressure by sealing tightly
Check valve operation Lifts off seat to allow forward flow when pressure differential exists
When replacement is needed
Pressure loss System cannot maintain operating pressure
Backflow issues Material flows backward through the valve
Visible wear / pitting Ball surface is damaged, pitted, or has flat spots
Inconsistent flow Fluctuations in material delivery

Related parts commonly serviced together

When replacing the ball, these associated components are often inspected or replaced at the same time.

Valve seat

The surface the ball seals against; inspect for wear, pitting, or damage.

Valve spring / cage

Components that guide and retain the ball; check for wear or damage.

Valve body / housing

The component that contains the ball and seat; inspect for damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

This ball serves as a check valve element, seating against a valve seat to allow flow in one direction while preventing backflow, maintaining system pressure and pump prime.

Signs include pressure loss, backflow through the valve, visible wear or pitting on the ball surface, or inconsistent material flow.

Numerous Hydra, PowrLiner, PowrTex, and PowrTwin models. See compatibility table for full list.

If the ball shows signs of wear, pitting, or flat spots, replacement is necessary. A damaged ball will not seal properly against the seat, leading to continued performance issues.
